摘要
Research on the public health consequences of changes in gun laws is difficult because of the large number of potentially confounded variables. As an analysis strategy, interrupted time series require fewer and easier assumptions because the preintervention period provides a baseline against which to judge the effect of an intervention. This article describes a methodology for interrupted time series analysis of gun control laws and illustrates it with studies of mandatory sentencing laws in six cities and a restrictive licensing law in the District of Columbia.
