MULTIPLE STEADY-STATES OF A CROSS-FLOW MOVING BED REACTOR - THEORY AND EXPERIMENT

摘要
An adiabatic moving bed reactor with crossflow was investigated experimentally in the sensitive range of multiple steady states. The experiments were performed with the exothermic catalytic ethane oxidation. The mathematical modeling with the two-phase and the pseudo-homogeneous two-dimensional model shows that the boundary conditions have a strong influence on the numerical solution. Agreement between experiment and theory was best for the solutions of the two-phase model with Danckwerts boundary conditions.
