摘要
Optical absorption of the polarons in Mg2NiH4 has been evidenced at 1.85 - 1.90 eV. This leads to a polaron hopping energy in excellent agreement with the activation energy of hydrogen diffusion. A model is proposed for intrinsic defect states implied in the correlated motion of the proton and a localized electron.
