摘要：

Data obtained by observing the functional communication of 40 adult aphasic human subjects who lived at home is summarized. Typical communication patterns are described by presenting 3 case histories and detailed reports of the actual observations. Effective communication strategies used by the subjects are summarized, and detailed examples of 3 successful strategy users are given.
