LOW-FREQUENCY VIBRATIONS (20-400CM-1) IN AQUEOUS GAMMA-AMINOBUTYRIC ACID-SOLUTIONS

摘要
Raman spectra (20-400 cm-1) of aqueous solutions of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) are studied by construction of a quantity R(ṽ). A band exhibiting a maximum at 90 cm-1 gains intensity, proportional to GABA content, relative to the external water-vibration at 180 cm-1. An interaction between the mode at 90 cm-1 and librations of guest molecules (typically aromatic) is proposed. © 1979.
