ON A UNIFIED MANY-BODY THEORY OF DWBA AND OF OPTICAL MODEL

摘要
A unifief theory of the DWBA and of the optical model is developed in the framework of the many-body theory. It is shown that the energy-averaged inelastic S-matrix is given exactly by a DWBA expression containing proper one-channel optical-model wave functions. The effective interaction, which determines the form factor, is in general complex, non-local and energy dependent. It is shown that it can be determined by the difference of the optical-model potentials of the A- and (A±1)-particle nuclei. The current expressions for the optical-model potential imply that the effective interaction is in general not given by the Born approximation even after averaging but will be slowly energy dependent as the optical-model potential. An explicit expression for the effective interaction is given in the random phase approximation. The scattering on even and odd nuclei is discussed separately. © 1969.
