Non-resonance excitation transfer in atomic collisions induced by dipole-dipole interaction

摘要：

The cross-section for non-resonance excitation transfer in atomic collisions is calculated for a case when the coupling is due to the dipole-dipole electrostatic interaction. The asymptotic dependence of a cross-section on the Massey parameter is essentially different from that obtained earlier by Stueckelberg [5] and Bates [6]. An interpolation expression for near resonance excitation transfer is proposed.
