KONDO EFFECT IN QUASI-2-DIMENSIONS - THE ROLE OF DISORDER

摘要
Recent work on the Kondo effect in quasi-two-dimensional systems has shown that the Kondo contribution to the resistivity, DELTArho(K), is strongly suppressed when the thickness of the system is made smaller than a few thousand angstrom. In this paper we report the results of further experiments which demonstrate that the behavior of DELTArho(K) also depends on the degree of disorder. Our results imply that disorder suppresses the Kondo effect in these systems.
