摘要
1. 1. Uricase activity was assayed in liver homogenates of nineteen species of fresh-water teleost fishes. Activity using fresh-tissue homogenates varied from 0·69 units/mg of protein in the shovel-nose sturgeon (Scaphirhynchus platorynchus) to 5·19 units/mg of protein in the white bass (Roccus chrysops). 2. 2. Uricase activity was also assayed using acetone powder preparations. 3. 3. Certain parameters of uricase kinetics were measured. Optimum assay conditions varied slightly depending on the species used. 4. 4. No correlation seemed to be evident between liver uricase activity and phylogeny, diet, age or reproductive state. © 1969.
