DETERMINATION OF THORIUM AND URANIUM CONTENTS IN GEOLOGICAL SAMPLES BY USING SOLID-STATE NUCLEAR TRACK DETECTORS

摘要
Thorium to uranium ratios have been determined in different geological samples by using CR-39 and LR-115 solid-state nuclear track detectors (SSNTD). A calibration method, based an determining SSNTD registration sensitivity ratios for alpha-particles of the thorium and uranium series, has been developed. Thorium and uranium contents of samples studied have been determined and compared to data obtained by mass spectrometry.
