STUDY OF THE OXIDATION LAYER ON THE NICKEL SURFACE IN 1 M NAOH SOLUTION USING THE INSITU PHOTOTHERMAL SPECTROSCOPY METHOD

摘要
An in-situ photothermal spectroscopy method using a polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) pyroelectric film detector was developed for investigating the anodic layer formed on a nickel electrode. The variations of the in-situ photothermal spectroscopic signal on the nickel electrode in 1 M NaOH solution reflected the composition changes of the surface layer between Ni(OH)2 and NiOOH at different potentials. This method was very sensitive and useful for measuring surface phenomena at an electrode.
