摘要
Buoyancy and surface-tension-driven evaporative convection flow theories are discussed briefly to predict instability criteria, cell size, and cell deformation for Saran coatings. Results predicted by Rayleigh's hydrodynamic and Pearson's surface tension theories agree well with the experiment. The expression for surface depth derived previously is verified also. It may, therefore, be concluded that the surface texture of hot solution-cast polymer coatings is induced by evaporative convection flow. © 1969.
