Dielectric properties of two-phase mixture systems including rutile (TiO2) have been investigated. One of its binary compounds-MnTiO3, ZnTiO3, PbTiO3 and A12TiO5-was chosen as the second component. Dielectric constants epsilon(r) and their temperature coefficients tau(epsilon) were first examined at 1 MHz. Dielectric properties in the microwave frequency region were measured in the TE011 mode of a cylindrical specimen. The temperature coefficient of resonant frequency, tau(f), of MnTiO3 was negative, and a zero coefficient was found at an intermediate composition x = 0.13 in the (1 - x) MnTiO3-xTiO2 system. In the PbTiO3-TiO2 system, zero tau(epsilon) composition was confirmed at low frequencies, but composition modification trials aiming to make microwave dielectric measurements possible were unsuccessful throughout the entire system.
