TONE-BURST RESPONSE PATTERNS OF SINGLE UNITS IN CAT MEDIAL GENICULATE BODY

摘要
One hundred and eighty nine medial geniculate body (MGB) units were studied in barbiturate anesthetized cats during binaural tone-burst stimulation. The data from these units were analyzed and response histograms were produced for the various units under different stimulus conditions. Many different types of MGB response patterns were evoked by binaural tone-burst stimuli. These types were broadly classified into those units initially excited (onset excitation units) and those initially inhibited (onset inhibition units) by the stimulus. Certain features of these response patterns were found to vary systematically with systematic changes in stimulus parameters. Sixteen units were unaffected by binaural tone stimulation. © 1969.
