摘要
In this investigation, it was shown that titanium diboride would plastically deform at a temperature of 1273 K and at a stress level much lower than predicted by previous experimental data. The crystal structure of titanium diboride is a topologically hexagonal structure which allows for a number of possible slip systems. Experimentally, it was observed that three slip directions were present: [0001], 1/3 [2BAR110] and 1/3 [2BAR113]. The probable slip planes are (0001), {10BAR10} and {10BAR11}.
