EXTRACTIVE-SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF PALLADIUM USING THIOSALICYLIC ACID AND HEXYLAMINE

摘要
A highly sensitive and selective spectrophotometric method for the determination of palladium has been worked out in neutral medium utilizing thiosalicylic acid as a ligand. The coloured metal complex thus obtained is quantitatively extractable into chloroform in the presence of hexylamine. The method is free from the interference of a large number of metal ions including platinum metals. The ratio of metal to ligand in the extracted species is 1:2. The standard deviation is +/- 0.002.
