摘要
To solve the problem of the narrow viewing angle in twisted-nematic-mode active-matrix liquid-crystal display (LCD), we proposed a new LCD mode using a bend-alignment LC cell with an optical compensator. In this new mode, a wide viewing angle with a black state having no viewing-angle dependence was obtained. We discussed the fundamental principle and design rvle of the optical compensator and showed improvement through theoretical and experimental analysis.
