摘要
The impedance spectra from studying a wide range of potassium concentrations (10-1-10-6 M) in aqueous solutions in contact with valinomycin containing plasticised polymer membranes are reported. For membranes where the K+ valinomycin ratio in the membrane is 10:1 (typical of the ratio found in actual sensors) the interfacial impedance (a Warburg impedance) can be detected only as concentrations of K+ in the solution fall below 2 × 10-6 M. A related system involving the transfer of tetraphenylarsonium ions which shows similar behaviour is also reported. The presence of albumin in the aqueous phase does not change the behaviour of the K+ exchanging membranes. However when ionic surfactants are added to the aqueous phase they are transferred into the membrane phase. © 1990.
