摘要
Based on theoretical calculations, polyarenemethylenes (1, PAMs) are predicted to be low gap polymers with good semiconducting and photoelectrical properties. Suitable precursors are required for the preparation of such polymers with a well-defined structure. We report here on the synthesis of a variety of monomers with alternating aromatic and quinoid subunits as precursors. Systems containing an annulated benzene or thiophene ring at the quinoid moiety and precursors with extended quinoid units are also described.
