LUMINESCENCE FROM A CUBIC SILICON CLUSTER

摘要
We have studied the luminescence properties of a novel Si8 cubic cluster, octasilacubane. The photoluminescence (PL) with a peak at 1.65 eV was observed at low temperatures below 80 K. The PL decay was single exponential with a time constant of 3.1 ms. Spectroscopic analysis and the light-induced electron-spin resonance experiment suggest that the temperature-sensitive PL arises from the radiative emission from the triplet excited state.
