摘要
The often-observed quantitative and qualitative differences of the ability of the β-hemolytic streptococcus to cause surgical infection has been evaluated in an in vitro system. Fresh plasma was found to inhibit the β-hemolytic streptococcus significantly less than five other bacterial species. It is felt that this may explain the lower inoculum of β-hemolytic streptococci necessary to cause surgical infections. © 1969.
