摘要：

Recent legislation in the U.S.A. signals a major commitment to the use of alternative transportation fuels to replace gasoline and diesel use in vehicles. Government and private sector programs are likely to create a market for millions of alternate-fueled vehicles by the end of the decade. Within the context of this national effort, interest in hydrogen vehicle development is growing rapidly. The federal hydrogen transportation program, other government projects, and the activities of the private sector are discussed in this paper.
