摘要
This work introduces the development of a fast neutron dosimeter suitable for area monitoring. It depends on measuring the induced changes in the diameter of certain polymer fibers, namely, nylon 6, polyester and dralon. The diameter measurements are carried out by studying the diffraction patterns of the fibers using a He-Ne laser beam before and after irradiation with different fluences of fission neutrons in the range 10**5-10**1**0 n cm** minus **2. The changes in diameter were observed on photographs taken with the scanning electron microscope.
