The experimental study of Raman scattering of light in a cubic crystal of zinc sulphide by a substitutional manganese impurity has been achieved. A theoretical approach based on symmetry properties of the lattice gives a satisfactory interpretation of the resonant modes of vibration of the manganese impurity for various concentrations.
