摘要
Average seasonal variations of the interrsity and the rotational temperature of the hydroxyl emission at different latitudes have been derived from observational data obtained over many years at Zvenigorod and other stations. The solar cycle variations of the OH emission are given. Influence of geomagnetic disturbances of various interrsities on the interrsity and rotational temperature of OH emission has been detected. Periodic variations in the interrsity and rotational temperature appear a few days after the commencement of a geomagnetic storm and last for up to 30 days. The delay in time depends on the latitude, and on the vicinity of the equator is about 10 days. Disturbances seem to spread from the auroral zone with the meridional velocity component of 5-10 m/sec. The additional energy of the hydroxyl emission, as a result of a geomagnetic storm, is released mainly at latitudes of over 30°. The planetary energy during a storm is maximum for disturbances with ap ≃ 140, and reaches in this case 4.1023 erg. © 1969.
