摘要
The percentage of free neuroleptic drug unbound to plasma protein is much higher for the respective metabolites of chlorpromazine and thioridazine, 7-hydroxychlorpromazine and mesoridazine, than for the parent drugs. The therapeutic activities of chlorpromazine and thioridazine may be mediated to a major extent by 7-hydroxychlorpromazine and mesoridazine respectively. Measuring free levels of the active metabolites of neuroleptics as well as the parent drugs may facilitate regulation of neuroleptic doses to secure optimal therapeutic responses. © 1979.
