The standard (p⊖ = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpy of formation of ammonium azide at 298.15 K has been derived from measurements of the energy of combustion in oxygen as ΔfHm⊖(cr) = (114.14±0.94) kJ·mol-1. From measurements of the molar enthalpy of solution of NH4N3(cr) in water, the value ΔfHm⊖(N3-, aq, ∞) = (274.63±0.97) kJ·mol-1 has been calculated. © 1990.
