The e.m.f.'s of the following solid-fluoride electrolyte galvanic cells have been measured over the temperature ranges shown. (1)Gd, GdF3|CaF2|DyF3, Dy (920 to 1170 K)(2)Gd, GdF3|CaF2|HoF3, Ho (1140 to 1212 K)(3)Gd, GdF3|CaF2|ErF3, ER (1145 to 1255 K)(4)Gd, GdF3|CaF2|TmF3, Tm (953 to 1080 K) Thermodynamic functions have been derived from the results for the reactions: Dy + 1.5F2 = DyF3, Ho + 1.5F2 = HoF3, Er + 1.5F2 = ErF3, and Tm + 1.5F2 = TmF3. © 1979.
