摘要
The variation of coal swelling with temperature has been found to be small or negligible, in the acceasible range of room temperature to 100-degrees-C, just below the boiling point of the solvent used in this study (pyridine). This insensitivity of swelling to temperature is also to be expected on theoretical grounds, regardless of whether the chains in the swollen network are considered to be stiff or flexible.
