DATA ANALYSIS FOR LEUCOCYTE GROUPS IN MAN

Some pitfalls in the use of statistical tests and tests in particular for similarity assessment and selection of antisera for further analysis in leucocyte group determination are examined and discussed both theoretically and practically with the aid of computer analysis of model systems. The basic selectional method of van Rood has been developed and extended with the introduction of a simple arithmetic similarity coefficient in an attempt to overcome some of the limitations involved in this kind of data processing. The analysis of bulk data has been completely computerised in a single program and subjected to a practical test with published data. The potential of the revised method and its possible future applications are discussed. © 1969 by The Williams and Wilkins Co.
