ALKALOIDS OF JASMINUM SPECIES (FAMILY OLEACEAE) .2. ISOLATION OF A NEW MONOTERPENOID ALKALOID AND OTHER CONSTITUENTS

A new monoterpenoid alkaloid (VI), closely related to the alkaloid (VII) from Rauwolfia verticillata, has been isolated from a Jasminum species from New Guinea. The same Jasminum species contains a substance C11H16O5 for which the probable structure (IX) has been assigned from a study of its 100-Mc/s N.M.R. spectrum.
