ELECTROCHEMICAL ACTINOMETRY USING THE ASSEMBLED MONOLAYER FILM OF AN AZO COMPOUND

摘要
A simple, convenient chemical actinometer based on an assembled monolayer film of an amphiphilic azo compound is proposed. In contrast to spectrophotometric quantification in conventional chemical actinometries, an electrochemical approach was employed. This novel actinometry does not require any sophisticated mathematical treatment, and the light intensity is directly obtained from its linear relationship to the faradaic charge in the electrochemical reduction process, allowing simple and nearly instantaneous measurement.
