NONEXPONENTIALITY AND THERMAL VARIATION OF NUCLEAR-RELAXATION IN GLASSES

摘要
The inhomogeneous relaxation of quadrupolar nuclei in glasses is explained by a model that takes into account the dependence on the distance of the coupling between nuclei and disorder modes. This leads to a stretched exponential magnetization recovery, R(t)=exp[-(t/t1)β], which modifies the temperature power-law variation of the apparent relaxation rate 1/t1∼Tα. An inverse relation between α and β is demonstrated in agreement with what is observed in a number of glasses. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
