摘要
Of 807 Eskimo mandibles, 6.6% were affected with carious molars. The affection, however, was very seldom marked; it occurred most frequently on the occlusal surface of the crown. The caries appeared closely associated with degree of attrition, the greater the degree of attrition, the less common was the caries. The [male][male] show a somewhat higher incidence of caries than the [female][female]. As a group, the Eskimos of the south-midwest evince appreciably more caries than those of the northwest and north-northeast. Attrition was usual and frequently very marked in the Eskimo mandibular molars. In both sexes the 1st molar was most worn, the 2nd less, and the 3rd least worn. The lower molars of the [male][male] were somewhat more worn than those of the [female][female].
