HYPERFINE STRUCTURE OF 14.4 KEV MOSSBAUER GAMMA LINE OF 57FE IN CLOSE-PACKED HEXAGONAL METALS

摘要
The hyperfine Mössbauer spectra of 57Fe, incorporated as a dilute impurity in ten different non-cubic metals, have been studied. The splittings in the absorption spectra are interpreted to be due to electric quadrupole interactions. In hexagonal close-packed metals quadrupole splittings appear to be related to the axial ratio c/a of the host.
