摘要
Results are reported for rare-earth-doped MCVD prepared silica preforms which use a vapor-phase transport to the hot zone of chelates of 2,2,6, 6,-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedione with A1 codoping to increase the solubility. The process gives high rare-earth concentrations with low loss and is readily adaptable to multiple rare-earth doping. For a Yb-Er fiber in excess of 11 wt% Yb2O3 was obtained. In another fiber 1.0 wt% Nd2O3 was incorporated with an attenuation at 1130 nm of less than 10 dB/Km. © 1990 IEEE
