摘要
An unusual delayed emission is reported for solutions of 5,6,11,12-tetraphenyltetracene (rubrene). The first triplet state of rubrene can be populated by sensitization with biacetyl or benzophenone. In flash-photolysis studies of the properties of this state, an anomalous emission was observed. The anomalous emission is interpreted as triplet-triplet fluorescence within the triplet manifold of rubrene. Various data in support of this emission mechanism are presented.
