A revision of the interpretation of the pea translocation line WL‐21 to involve chromosome 3–7 implies a shift of linkage groups III and V between chromosomes 3 and 5 and also a shift of the linkage segment coch‐tl‐r‐bt from chromosome 7 to chromosome 3. Using lines of normal structural type and translocation lines, linkage analysis was performed involving cri, coch, and tl as marker genes. The linkage analysis has confirmed the suggestion by Lamm and Miravalle (1959) of extending linkage group V to fs‐cri‐gp‐coch‐r‐tl‐bt. Copyright © 1990, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
