摘要
The question of singlet energy migration in excimer-forming synthetic polymers is readdressed in the light of new data, with improved temporal resolution, on poly(styrene) in methylene chloride and cyclopentane solutions, and poly(2-vinylnaphthalene) in benzene. In these selected samples, simple kinetics for the population of excimers were observed, and thus in these cases, it was not necessary to invoke facile singlet energy migration to explain the results. The concept of rapid rotational sampling could be utilized to explain the data.
