摘要
Investigations of the infrared and polarized Raman spectra of Cd(HCOO)(2).2H(2)O reveal the presence of two crystallographically nonequivalent formate ions as separate frequencies are observed for each internal mode. The symmetric CO2 stretching mode is observed in between the two components of the in-plane OCH bending mode. There is a weakening of the C-O bond due to a lone pair effect. The formate group is found to bridge cadmium atoms in anti-syn configuration. Water molecules of two different hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal.
