摘要
Some vanadium phosphate glasses are prepared having dispersed particles of silver and bismuth, respectively with diameters ranging from 50 to 2000 Å. The dc and ac resistivities of these samples are measured over a temperature range 90 to 400 K. The dc resistivity data at temperatures below 160 K show that the conductivity arises due to electron tunnelling between the metallic granules. Most of the glass‐metal particulate composites show memory switching. A particlestretching model is proposed for explaining this behaviour. The increase of switching field as a function of temperature is ascribed to a differential increase of thermal expansion of the glass matrix with respect to that of the metallic species present in it.
