A calculation of the energy width of spin waves whose energy is small compared to kT in a Heisenberg ferromagnet is presented. Full account is taken of all two-particle processes. For 2JSkT1 and 2JSa22kT1, the energy width of a spin wave of wave number is 4T2[A+Bln(kT2JSa22)+Cln2(kT2JSa22)]. The disagreement with some previous treatments is explained physically by their neglect of two many-body effects. © 1968 The American Physical Society.
