摘要
The new dally generation scheduling model for the Ontario Hydro system 1s presented 1n this paper. The model 1s capable of considering the thermal and hydraulic systems together with system reserve requirement and transmission losses. The hydraulic system is considered 1n a detailed formulation which is capable of handling river couplings in a complete manner. This is a major weakness in the peak shaving technique used since early 1970s. A special Network Programming technique has been used to solve the problem. This method has proved to be very efficient from a computational point of view. Test results from application of the new technique is presented and compared to the peak shaving method. The user has estimated 1.4 million dollars per year of savings from the new computer package. © 1990 IEEE
