Calibrated mass spectrometric measurements on highly enriched isotopes of cerium in the form of oxides of well-defined purity were carried out using a thermal ionization mass spectrometer, yielding an absolute isotopic composition of 0.186(1) at.% Ce-136, 0.251(1) at.% Ce-138, 88.449(34) at.% Ce-140 and 11.114(34) at.% Ce-142, and the atomic weight of cerium as 140.1157(8) with an error given as 2 sigma. No isotopic fractionation was found in terrestrial normal cerium materials.
