FORMATION OF [CP2TI(CCSIME3)] FROM TITANOCENE AND 1,4-BIS(TRIMETHYLSILYL)-1,3-BUTADIYNE

摘要
The reactions of Cp2TiCl2 with Mg and Me3SiC=C-C=CSiMe3 in THF, and of Cp2Ti(Me3SiC= CSiMe3) with Me3SiC=C=CSiMe3 yield the dinuclear titanium(III) complex [Cp2Ti(C=CSiMe3)]2. During these reactions the central C-C bond of the starting butadiyne is split by the in situ generated titanocene "Cp2Ti".
