摘要
The bioorgin of the methyl groups of lincomycin has been studied. Using radioactive techniques and mass spectroscopy it was determined that in addition to the SCH3 and NCH3 groups of this antibiotic, the CCH3 group present in the amino acid moiety is derived from C1 donors. The results obtained present a unique example of biological methylation reactions on nitrogen, sulfur, and carbon occurring in the same biological system. © 1969, American Chemical Society.
