MECHANISM OF ELECTRODEPOSITION OF BI-SR-CA-CU ALLOYED FILMS

Electrodeposition of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu alloyed films has been carried out from aqueous acidic and alkaline baths using the nitrates of bismuth, strontium, calcium and copper on to stainless steel, copper, brass, titanium and fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) coated glass and MgO substrates. The changes in current with time during deposition at different fixed potentials and the effect of potential on growth of the deposit are studied. The electro-deposited Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu alloyed films were oxidised at higher temperatures and studied for their resistivity measurements. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the films were also obtained. The mechanism of electrodeposition of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu films on to stainless steel substrates is discussed at length.
