摘要
The influences of substrate composition, heating rate, thermal pretreatments, final (peak) temperature, pressure, vapor-phase retention time, and catalysts on the yield of charcoal from biomass are reviewed. A significant increase in the yield is achieved only by operation at elevated pressure in a stagnant gaseous environment. Future research should focus on these operating conditions as a means for optimizing the yield of charcoal from biomass. © 1990, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
