摘要
The use of both fluoropolymers and their derivatives as well as fluorinated bonded phases on silica as high-performance liquid chromatography column packings is reviewed. In general, retention of small molecules is less on fluorocarbon phases as compared to hydrocarbon materials. However, specific effects such as pi-electron interactions can be magnified using fluorinated phenyl phases. The potential of fluorocarbon phases for the separation of biomacromolecules appears to be good.
