DETERMINATION OF CHOLINESTERASE IN BLOOD-SERUM WITH A BENZOATE-SENSITIVE MEMBRANE-ELECTRODE

摘要
Benzoic acid, formed by the enzymatic hydrolysis of benzoylcholine with cholinesterase, is detected with a benzoate-sensitive membrane electrode made with tridodecylmethylammonium chloride as ion-exchanger and omicron-nitrophenyl octyl ether as plasticizer. The detection limits were 0.02 mM benzoate in phosphate buffer at pH 7.4 and 0.1 mM in the presence of blood serum. Cholinesterase in blood serum was determined successfully by using this electrode.
